What is an SBA loan?
An SBA Loan is a program established by the U.S. Small Business Administration to promote the growth of small business enterprises. The program encourages banks to lend to entrepreneurs. To achieve this goal, the SBA provides a guarantee of 75% of funds loaned to a qualifying small business borrower. Through the SBA guaranteed loan program, First National Bank of Nassau County provides financing options up to $2 million depending on the business purpose.

Is my business eligible for an SBA loan?
Almost any type of "for profit" sole proprietor, partnership or corporation is eligible for an SBA guaranteed loan. Although some criteria may vary, businesses with the following parameters are generally eligible:

	Retail and service businesses with annual sales to $20 million (depending on the type of business)
	Manufacturers with up to 1,500 employees (depending on the type of business)
	Wholesalers with no more that 100 employees

Loan Purposes
An SBA loan can be used to purchase or start your own business. The loan can also be used to expand an existing business by providing funds to make leasehold improvements, increase working capital, or purchase equipment, inventory, or real estate.
